Mindolo maternity building on

CHRISTINE CHIHAME, Kitwe
GOVERNMENT has started constructing a maternity block at Mindolo Clinic in Kitwe at K1.6 million.
Speaking during the ground-breaking ceremony at Mindolo Clinic on Friday, Nkana member of Parliament Luxon Kazabu said the project is aimed at decongesting Kitwe Central Hospital.
Mr Kazabu said the facility will address the difficulties mothers currently face of travelling to Kitwe Central Hospital to access maternal services.
He said the construction of the health facility will go a long way in improving the quality of maternal health care services, thereby accelerating the drive towards the achievement of the millennium development goals.
And Copperbelt province medical officer Consity Mwale said Government has implemented significant health sector reforms aimed at strengthening health service delivery to improve the health status of Zambians.
