Media thriving but…

CHIEF Government Spokesperson Dora Siliya.

GOVERNMENT is happy with the increased number of media houses in the country but is concerned about the high levels of unprofessionalism by journalists at some radio stations.
Minister of Information and Broadcasting Services Dora Siliya said Government has created a conducive environment for the media to thrive.
Ms Siliya said it is the duty of media associations to ensure that professionalism is observed.
“The coming of the Independent Broadcasting Authority has seen the issuance of 115 radio licences. We are cognisant of the fact that in most of these radio stations, professionalism is lacking,” the minister said.
