STRIKER Emmanuel Mayuka’s coach at French Ligue Two side FC Metz Riga Jose has been fired after 19 matches in charge.
The Belgian leaves Metz sixth on the log with 30 points, nine behind leaders Nancy.
According to a statement on the club website, Jose has been replaced by former Metz player Philippe Hinschberger.
“After 19 games, FC Metz are in sixth place, a position which is not at the height of the ambitions of the club.
“Accordingly, club president Bernard Serin has decided to act, to reinstate the club garnet in a positive momentum for the second half of the season,” read the statement in part.
Hinschberger made 452 appearances for the club.
Under Jose, Mayuka was a regular, netting vital goals and it remains to be seen if he will cement his position in the team.
Mayuka joined the French side from English Premiership outfit Southampton at the start of the season.
