SINGER and songwriter Marsha Moyo has been featured on the project When Worlds Collide, which was selected by American rapper Jay Z’s Tidal Rising programme where he supports emerging actors and their overlooked gifts.
Marsha is featured on the song Another Mirror with Eminem’s Shady Records artiste Kxng Crooked of Slaughterhouse.
The debut studio album from Marsha’s United States-based publicist Jonathan Hay, King Tech and Mike Smith that features notable names in the hip-hop genre has been featured in Billboard, Business Insider, Fox News, International Business Times and Rap Radar among other publications.
The indie hip-hop compilation is loaded with collaborations that include Inspectah Deck of Wu-Tang Clan, Royce da 5’9”, Twista, Kool G Rap, DJ Revolution, DJ Whoo Kid, Troy Ave, Dizzy Wright, Caskey (from Cash Money Records), Jerome ‘Bigfoot’ Brailey of Parliament Funkadelic and Kanye West’s protégé Cyhi the Prynce.
Hay has been described as a “public relations marvel” and is best known for his work with Rihanna while Smith owns a record label and is a celebrity judge on the television show One Shot with Sway Calloway; King Tech co-hosts The Wake Up Show on Sirius XM Shade.
Together they released When Music Worlds Collide with one of the focuses being Tidal vs Spotify, a commercial music streaming, podcast and video service that provides digital rights management-restricted content from record labels and media companies.
“We reached out to both Spotify and Tidal to participate in this challenge. We weren’t expecting either to contact us back,” Hay told Billboard.
“So I was surprised when Roc Nation contacted me about the criteria for our challenge. I explained our concept, and asked them to listen to our album. We got great feedback from them about the album, and then they featured it on their homepage under New Releases – which is staggering. Jay Z has put it out there that Tidal is about helping independent artistes. We can say first-hand that’s true.”
Hay told the Weekend Mail that following the release of When Music Worlds Collide, they will be getting back in the studio with Marsha to record an EP that will premiere exclusively through TIDAL with his label Urban Hitchcock.
