Manyuchi to fight in Harare

SYLVESTER CHISHIMBA, Lusaka
ORIENTAL Quarries Boxing Promotions (OQBP) and the Zimbabwean Ministry of Sport and Recreation have agreed to stageCharles Manyuchi’s World Boxing Council (WBC) welterweight defence title fight against Damien Martin of France in Harare.
OQBP director of operations Christopher Malunga said in a statement issued in Lusaka yesterday that the fight will be staged at Harare International Conference Centre on September 30.
Malunga said both OQBP and Zimbabwean representatives agreed that the fight will be held in honour of President Robert Mugabe.
“This boxing extravaganza will showcase the excellent collaborative links that exist between Zambia and Zimbabwe in the area of sport in general and boxing in particular,” he said.
