AN EMPLOYEE of the Ministry of Health in Lukulu in Western Province has been sentenced to five years imprisonment with hard labour for money laundering involving over K73,000 after he introduced his wife on the government payroll when she was not an employee.
Drug Enforcement Commission (DEC) public relations officer Theresa Katongo named the convict as registry clerk Katutu Mbangu in a statement released in Lusaka yesterday.
Ms Katongo said Mbangu was arrested by DEC in May this year for abuse of authority of office, theft, money laundering and theft by public servant.
