Lwandamina nods Chipolopolo dropping

COACH George Lwandamina has welcomed the Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) decision to drop him as national team coach.
FAZ last week dropped the Zesco United trainer and replaced him with Wedson Nyirenda.
Lwandamina told journalists at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in Ndola on Saturday that the move by FAZ to let him concentrate on Zesco is a step in the right direction.
“It’s a welcome move. The club decided that I should assist in that capacity, so again they wrote to my club that I should concentrate on
my club. It’s a welcome move because I am paid by my club and not by FAZ, and I was just trying to be patriotic, being a Zambian,” said Lwandamina, who failed to guide the Chipolopolo to next year’s Africa Cup of Nations finals.
