Lusaka water supply restored

THE Lusaka Water and Sewerage Company (LWSC) has completed repairs on the main water supply line which was vandalised on Thursday plunging the entire city into a shortage of the commodity.
By press time yesterday, only a few parts of the capital city had started receiving water although the pressure was low.
A motor vehicle rammed into a main valve at Lusaka Water Works station in Libala, causing the disruption of supply.
LWSC public relations officer Nshamba Muzungu said in Lusaka yesterday LWSC engineers repaired the damage to the Kafue water supply line late in the night and have since reconnected supply to Lusaka.
Mr Muzungu said some parts of Lusaka have started receiving normal water supply but it may take some time for supply to stabilise in some areas.
