VIOLET MENGO, Lusaka
IN LAST week’s column, Lusaka Province Minister Bowman Lusambo talked about his plans for Lusaka, his unannounced visits to government agencies and departments, and countered accusations that he oversteps his boundaries in his execution of duties.
Today, he highlights some of the major challenges Lusaka is facing and how his office is responding to them.
Q: What are some of the major challenges being faced in the province?
A: We have a lot of challenges as Lusaka Province, but one of them is that people want to take the law into their own hands. There is a lot of lawlessness where land acquisition is concerned. People are encroaching on government and private land where they are building on service lines, road reserves, and when you engage them, they produce title deeds.
The other challenge is the misunderstanding that occurs in the implementation of certain strategies that are developed because acceptability is a hard thing among the people.http://epaper.daily-mail.co.zm/
