Lungu’s Christian values should inspire all – Phiri

MINISTER of General Education John Phiri says President Lungu’s decision to dedicate his presidency to God should inspire all well-meaning Zambians to vote for him in this year’s elections to safeguard the country from evil forces.
Dr Phiri said in Ndola that the country is  blessed to have a God-fearing President.
He said President Lungu is a unifying leader with interest of Zambians at heart.
Dr Phiri was speaking when he addressed pupils at Sathya Sai School in Ndola.
“President Lungu is truly guided by God in all he does because he has surrendered his Presidency to Him. Zambia is blessed to have a President who encourages everybody to participate in worshiping God. He calls for prayers when he sees the need to do so,” Dr Phiri said.
He said Zambia is in safe hands under the leadership of President Lungu and that it is imperative for all Zambians to rally behind him and his leadership to sustain the unprecedented development taking place country-wide.
He said President Lungu has demonstrated that he meant well for the country and that it is also motivating to see him initiating the construction of a national house of prayer in Lusaka and declaration of October 18 as a national day of prayers.
Meanwhile, Dr Phiri has called on pupils country-wide to guard against bad behaviour and embrace the fear of God in their lives if they are to succeed in their studies.
He also pledged to help address some of the challenges Sathya Sai School is facing so that the school can effectively contribute to the provision of quality education and growth of the education sector.
Dr Phiri also said that Government would endeavour to create favourable learning conditions in all schools to motivate pupils to work hard so to realise their dreams.
