ON WEDNESDAY, Zambia Daily Mail and Times of Zambia carried a story in which the National Aids Council (NAC) said it has offloaded over 120,000
condoms in Luapula Province.
According to NAC, the move to disburse condoms was in anticipation of hundreds of local and international visitors to the ongoing Luapula Expo and Investment Conference, which opened its doors on July 26.
The Luapula Expo-cum-Investment Conference, which is running up to July 31, is an initiative aimed at showcasing numerous investment oppor-tunities in the province.
The event brings together local and international investors, decision-makers and captains of industry under the theme ‘Linking investors to Luapula Province to unlock economic potential’.
While it is indisputable that the event has attracted serious-minded people with the sole agenda of boosting economic activities in the province, NAC also anticipates an influx of unofficial guests in the name of sex workers.
Their agenda is to cash in by selling sex to some excited and morally bankrupt individuals.
This is why NAC has disbursed 120,000 condoms to help these individuals escape some physical consequences of sexual immorality such as HIV, sexually transmitted infections and pregnancy.
While a condom may help an individual to escape responsibility of pregnancy, HIV and STIs, there are far more hidden repercussions – both spir-itual and physical to sexual immorality than a mere latex tube can handle.
A condom, for instance, cannot save one from the judgment of God. If one, therefore, dies in sexual sin, hell is their guaranteed destination.
A condom cannot prevent divorce, loss of respect, integrity, trust and even destiny that results from sexual immorality. Many people are still igno-rant of the correlation that exists between sexual immorality and their destinies.
The Bible and society today have so many examples of people who were once great kings, politicians, businessmen, sportsmen, clergymen and professionals in various fields, who have gone into oblivion not because they are no longer skilled individuals or have decided to rest, but because they lost their honour through sexual immorality and life decided to retire them involuntarily.
The Bible, for instance, has documented evidence of how Samson, a mighty man of his time, lost his strength on the laps of a woman.
Our memories are still fresh of how Tiger Woods, the once greatest golfer of all time, lost his hold to fame and success due to his weakness for the opposite sex. His world crumbled upon revelations of his infidelity.
I do not need to conduct any research to know that the majority of people attending the Luapula Expo are married with families.
Marriage is a covenant between two people – a man and a woman – which should be upheld. The Bible spells out serious repercussions for break-ing the marriage covenant. Hebrews 13:4 says: “Marriage should be honoured by all, and the marriage bed kept pure, for God will judge the adul-terer and all the sexually immoral.”
Those in the habit of sleeping with prostitutes or simply engaging in sexual immorality should also understand that sex goes deeper than just a few minutes of pleasure. It unites the people involved into one.
The Bible in 1 Corinthians 6:16-17 simply puts it this way: “Do you not know that he who unites himself with a prostitute is one with her in body? For it is said, the two will become one flesh.”
A condom does not prevent this spiritual connectivity or soul-tie.
By nature, prostitutes sleep with so many people who they share soul ties with. By sleeping with a prostitute, one just entangles himself into a complex soul-tie network.
Since prostitutes cover a wide range of clientele, it can be concluded that among them are witches, murderers, robbers, con men, liars and those afflicted with certain ailments, among other characteristics. By sleeping with that prostitute, one becomes a partaker and a part of this network.
This is why some people from nowhere begin to manifest strange characteristics which they never had before.
For instance, in society, there are people who were known to be morally upright but all of a sudden they become moral wrecks. What may not be known is that such people had a sexual encounter with someone who has lust.
This, if researched, may explain why sexual immorality, murders and other vices are multiplying.
Dr Daniel Amen, in his book ‘Change your brain, change your life’, states that sex is a tridimensional experience which involves the spirit, soul, and body.
Dr Amen further argues that “Whenever a person is sexually involved with another person, neurochemical changes occur in both their brains that encourage limbic and emotional bonding”.
He likens sex to gluing two pieces of wood together and the next day ripping them apart. He says it is obvious, wood from the opposite board remains on each board. According to Dr Amen, a piece of one’s sex partner (the good, bad, and ugly) stays with them (and vice versa) for the rest of their lives. One is only left to imagine what happens when an individual bonds with multiple partners.
And American Prophetess Juanita Bynum, in her blog, says those who have spiritual attachments to so many people through sexual relations have difficulties getting satisfaction in a relationship. This is because there are so many conflicting personalities in them competing against each other.
This also leads to the high cases of divorce.
All those attending the expo who may harbour intentions of jumping at the condom ‘fiesta’ should think twice if engaging in sexual immorality is worth it considering the price they have to pay. Yes, they may escape HIV but they have their Creator to face on Judgment Day. Those who engage in infidelity risk losing families through divorce.
They also risk contributing to the statistics of delinquent children who may result from a broken home.
Above all, their integrity, achievements and destiny are at stake as seen from once great men who have involuntarily been retired into non-entities.
While sexual sin promises some false sense of sexual pleasure, the most prudent decision that those attending the expo can make is to uphold high moral values as this is not only in their best interest but that of their families and the Creator.
It is also the surest way to escape both spiritual and physical consequences of sexual immorality.
