Letter to the Editor

Kudos to Lunda Royal Establishment

Dear editor,
ALLOW me space in your newspaper to commend the Lunda Royal Establishment for banning the wearing of political party regalia at Mutomboko ceremony slated for July 30.
Traditional ceremonies are national events which should bring people together. Wearing political regalia has potential to turn such events into political campaigns. And considering the violence we have been experiencing, wearing political party regalia will only lead to provocation and violence.
As people go to the Mutomboko ceremony, let them go there as Zambians who treasure their heritage. If anything, culture should unite us as a people, regardless of political party affiliation.
