Kitwe DC concerned about lack of bridge in Kamfinsa’s Misaka

KABWE

MWILA NTAMBI, Kitwe
KITWE district commissioner Chanda Kabwe is concerned that expectant mothers are delivering in homes in Kamfinsa’s Misaka area because they cannot access the nearest health facility due to lack of a bridge.
Speaking when he toured Misaka on Saturday, Mr Kabwe said he has instructed government engineers in Kitwe to prepare a bill of quantities so that the bridge can be worked on.
He said it is dangerous for women to deliver at home because this poses a risk to both their lives and babies in case of complications.
Mr Kabwe also said it is difficult for residents to access schools, clinics, hospitals, churches and gravesites because there was no bridge to link them to such amenities.
Mr Kabwe hoped the bridge will be worked on as soon as possible .
And Mr Kabwe is disappointed with civic leaders in Kamfinsa for allegedly detaching themselves from the people.
“I will not allow civic leaders to stand in the way of Government’s plan to deliver development to the people.  We will not allow them to dent the image of this Government,” Mr Kabwe said.
He said it is sad that despite numerous appeals from Misaka residents for over 20 years to have a bridge constructed in their area, nothing has been done to date.
Mr Kabwe assured the residents that he will personally ensure that their plight is addressed by July this year.
