Kasonso says he will campaign for Lungu

SOLWEZI West United Party for National Development (UPND) Member of Parliament (MP) Teddy Kasonso will campaign for President Edgar Lungu in the August 12 general elections because the Patriotic Front (PF) is a winning team.
Speaking in an interview yesterday, Mr Kasonso said he will not contest the Solwezi West seat, but will support the candidate the PF will adopt in the constituency. “Personally, I am very happy with my achievement in the last five years. I am focused on campaigning for President Edgar Lungu. I am not standing as MP, but I will campaign in my constituency for whoever will be picked by the PF. “I am not standing there but am going to campaign for President Lungu. I am making it very clear,” the MP said. Mr Kasonso said it is important for the people of North-Western Province to vote for the winning team, which is the PF.
“The winning team is not UPND under Hakainde [Hichilema]. It’s not possible. I have associated myself with President Lungu, who was my workmate for six years, same company, he was the company secretary and I was one of the managers.
“I have associated with Hakainde [Mr Hichilema] and there is a difference between the two,” Mr Kasonso said.
