AN INCREASE in water levels at the Kariba Dam is anticipated to enhance electricity supply thereby bringing some relief to the various sectors of the economy.
ZRA says after weeks of low water levels in the dam, the river has witnessed an upsurge in the past week due to intense rainfall and water flows, an indication that Zambia may this year prevent load shedding.
“Lake Kariba collected water levels of up to 0.32 metres to close at 480.95 metres as at February 14, 2018. Last year, on the same date, water levels in the river stood at 479.31 metres.
