Kambwili commends local investor over office complex

ROAN member of Parliament Chishimba Kambwili has commended Wada Chovu Holdings Limited of Luanshya for investing over K32 million in the construction of an office complex and filling station in the mining town.
Speaking at the weekend during the commissioning of the new building and a grand raffle draw, Mr Kambwili said the new complex will enhance the ambience of the already beautiful town.
“The private sector plays an important role in the economic development of any nation and Government will ensure it continues to create an enabling environment for business to thrive,” said Mr Kambwili who is also Chief Government spokesperson.
He is confident Wada Chovu Holdings Limited will continue to employ Zambian youths and in doing so reduce poverty as well as keep them away from misdeeds.
“The Patriotic Front is determined to see more Zambians own business and participate effectively in the economic affairs of the country. Government approved the introduction of Reservation Schemes under the provisions of Section 21 (1) and (2) of the Citizens Economic Empowerment Act number nine of 2006,” Mr Kambwili said.
He said the corporate social responsibility of Wada Chovu in Luanshya is immense as seen by its decision to adopt the children’s ward at Thompson Hospital and refurbishing of a ward at Mikomfwa Health Centre.
Speaking at the same function, Luanshya deputy mayor Elizabeth Mulenga said she is happy that more investment is coming to the district.
She said the municipality will offer Wada Chovu Holdings Limited the support it requires to enable it to conduct the business efficiently.
Wada Chovu proprietor Charles Kabanda said the grand draw for two generators, a double door fridge and a 60-inch LG flat-screen television was done to appreciate the company’s clients.
The winner of a Mazda car was Gift Shaninda of Kitwe, while a Mr Kausu won a double-door fridge worth K7,000.
Kennedy Musuka of Mikonfwa township won a generator set worth K6,000 and Danny Shamuteya of Luanshya went away with a generator set worth K5,000.
Another draw will be conducted on December 25, 2015.
