Kalaba Algeria-bound

STEVEN MVULA, Lusaka
MINISTER of Foreign Affairs Harry Kalaba is today expected in Algeria on an official visit at the invitation of his Algerian counterpart.
The minister will hold talks with the Algerian Foreign Minister to discuss ways of enhancing bilateral and economic co-operation between the two countries.
This is according to a statement issued yesterday by Ministry of Foreign Affairs public relations officer Dorcas Chileshe.
Zambia and Algeria have enjoyed long-standing cordial relations which resulted in the signing of an agreement for the creation of the Joint Commission of Co-operation in 1986.
This agreement led to the continuous sponsorship of 192 Zambian students, so far, who are currently studying in various universities in Algeria.
Mr Kalaba will thereafter proceed to Khartoum, where he will hold bilateral meetings to review and enhance relations between the two countries.
