It’s looking good in boxing

AT THE end of the third round, flyweight Patrick Chinyemba appeared to want to inflict further psychological defeat on his opponent – he engaged in some mock dance. He knew he had done enough against the Australian, Alex Winwood. But it was not a straight-forward route for him. He needed a majority decision to make it in the last 16. But after all his three boxers made it to the second round, national team coach Wisdom Mudenda believes it is possible for Zambia to end the 25-year wait for a medal at the world’s biggest sporting event. Zambia’s last medal at the Olympics was through Samuel Matete, a silver in 400m hurdles. But boxing provided the country with the first medal, a bronze, through Keith Mwila at the 1994 Los Angeles Games.
