It is our right to moonlight, say lecturers

STEVEN MVULA, Lusaka
UNIVERSITY of Zambia Lecturers and Researchers Union general secretary Kelvin Mambwe says moonlighting is a lecturers’ right as long as it is done outside working hours of the learning institution.Dr Mambwe said in an interview yesterday that moonlighting is a normal practice all over the world as long as it does not affect the university’s time.
“The university time is from 08:00 hours to 17:00 hours. This is in the conditions of service. What happens to my time after 17:00 hours is my business. Others use that time to go to the bar, some use it for the family or watching soccer,” he said.http://epaper.daily-mail.co.zm/
