Islanders eliminate Zambian side from Confederation Cup

TWENTY-FOUR hours after Zesco United were eliminated from the CAF Champions League, Kabwe Warriors were yesterday dumped out of the Confederation Cup after going down to minnows CFFA of Madagascar.
Needing victory to remain in Africa’s second-tier competition, Warriors developed cold feet when it mattered most allowing the islanders to carry the day at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in Ndola.
The first leg in Antananarivo ended 0-0.
Zanaco and Red Arrows are the remaining envoys in the CAF Champions League and Confederation Cup, respectively.
