Invest yourself

YOUTHFUL LIVING with PASTOR MOYO M
ONE of the best gift you have ever received is yourself hence it remains that the best resource you have is yourself. What you are may not seem to be as adorable as what others are, but it is the best starting point on your way to the best that can ever be.
One musician late Lazarous Tembo sang “Anataya nkhwali ya m’manja ndi kuthamangira nkhanga ya kuthengo waona mawanga kuwala” literary translated as he threw a patriot in his hands and rushed for the guine fowl in the bush because he saw its beautiful spots. The consequences of such decision is obviously losing both what already in the hands and what he rushed for.
You are a mystery that can be explored for the rest of your life. Some of the youths neglect who they are and begin to pursue what someone else is. A second look at yourself will reveal that you are full of surprises that the world has been waiting for, for a long time. In as much as it is good to be inspired but it should not be done at the expense of neglecting the gifts and talents endowed within ourselves. In actual sense those who inspire us should help us stretch ourselves towards realizing the best that we bring out.
Youths should understand that people they admire dug deeper into their gifts and talents until they brought out the gem within. Investing yourself requires that you take time to explore your abilities and put in every effort improving until you make a landmark achievement. Your abilities once brought out to the fullest may become a source of income.
Proverbs 19:24 says, “The sluggard buries his hand in the dish and will not even bring it back to his mouth.” Hands may also represent by ability to do something. Therefore quotation may also mean having a need and valuable abilities but not able to utilize them to one’s benefit.
