TODAY, I would like us to look at a design trend that might not be so common on this side of the globe, and yet it is chic and has been around for years. It became popular in the late 2000s and has remained so to date. This is the industrial style and we will be looking at how to incorporate it in our bathrooms. Industrial style or industrial chic refers to an aesthetic trend in interior design that takes clues from old factories and industrial spaces that in recent years have been converted to lofts and other living spaces. Components of industrial style include elements such as weathered wood, metals, building systems, exposed bricks and pipes, industrial lighting fixtures and concrete flooring, among others.
These elements help give the space a “warehouse” feel which is the ultimate goal of this stylishness. This style incorporates raw materials to give the space an unfinished feel.
