GOVERNMENT is still in talks with Ethiopian Airlines (ET) to come up with a joint venture that will see the establishment of a national airline in Zambia.
Ministry of Transport permanent secretary Misheck Lungu says President Lungu is committed to seeing that Zambia Airways flies again to boost economic growth and job creation.
Officiating at the Arrival Africa’s first Boeing 787-900 to Lusaka by ET on Monday, Mr Lungu said the ministry has done its homework and is currently waiting for a go-ahead from Cabinet.
Mr Lungu also called on the private sector to work with Government in developing the aviation industry, if Zambia is to become the hub of logistics in Southern Africa.
