Hundreds file for parliamentary seats

A BLEND of confusion and excitement characterised the filing of nominations for parliamentary candidates yesterday in all the 156 constituencies across Zambia for the August 11 general elections.
In Kitwe’s Chimwemwe constituency, MWILA NTAMBI reports that five parliamentary candidates successfully filed their nomination papers.
The five are the Patriotic Front (PF)’s Mwenya Musenge, Ronald Manenga of the United Party for National Development (UPND), Rainbow Party’s Ignatius Nkonde, Forum for Democracy and Development (FDD)’s Edward Mwansa while former PF constituency chairman Elias Mutale will contest as an independent.
