THE Mpika incident is raising more questions than answers. How did the two suspects jump out of the car while handcuffed and heavily surrounded by police.
Is it that they were not handcuffed and were not surrounded by police? Then this is an anomaly on the part of law enforcers. It is not a secret that sometimes some police officers get excited and take the law into their own hands by treating suspects as guilty.
I’m not defending or saying the suspects were innocent. I’m only concerned about the treatment that these suspects are subjected to before trial.
Officers should allow the law to prevail. They should allow the suspects to be prosecuted. Theirs is to make sure they produce evidence for the courts to convict them of wrong doing.
