Honour our heroes now

Soccer Review with STEPHEN PHIRI
THE Luapula Province administration last weekend scored a first by honouring two sports personalities with roots in the region.
They honoured football legend Kalusha Bwalya and athletics guru Samuel Matete for their contributions in their respective sports fields during their heyday.
This is how it should be in all spheres of life.
Most of the times sports personalities are honoured when they are dead, a situation that should not be allowed to continue.
Let’s praise those who have put the country on the world map when they are living.
Going forward, I want to see the Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) arranging for a testimonial match for the likes of Christopher Katongo, Collins Mbesuma, James Chamanga, Kampamba Chintu, Noah Chivuta, Felix Katongo, Isaac Chansa and Joseph Musonda among others.
