Highridge draw Chongwe in Coke Championship

COCA-COLA Schools champions Highridge have been drawn in Group A with 2014 runners-up Chongwe in this year’s National Championship kicking off on Monday at Olympic Youth Development Centre in Lusaka.
Highridge of Central Province beat Lusaka’s Chongwe 2-1 to be crowned champions.
Mitondo (Copperbelt), Chizongwe (Eastern) and Mungwi (Northern) are the other teams in Group A.
The draws were conducted at Zambian Breweries head office in Lusaka yesterday.
Kaoma (Western), Samfya (Luapula), Solwezi (North- Western), Mpika (Muchinga) and Linda (Southern) make up Group B.
Zambia Schools Sports Association president Chipangano Tembo, who conducted the draws, said Group A winners will face Group B runners-up in the first semi-final while the other semi-final will see Group B victors locking horns with Group A runners-up.
The final is billed for August 15.
Tembo said the prize money has not been revised from last year’s and the winners will walk away with K15, 000 and a set of jerseys.
The runners-up will pocket K10, 000 and a set of jerseys with the third-placed team getting K7, 500.
Tembo said a team will be picked to represent Zambia at the Inter-Africa Stars camp in South Africa next month.
“We started the selection process just when the tournament began. We are half-way through and we will finalise the selection process after the national championship,” he said.
