TRYNESS TEMBO, Lusaka
CONSUMER Unity and Trust Society (CUTS) has urged Government to redouble its efforts in helping farmers access the open market to enable them sell their maize at a profitable price.
Last week, the Food Reserve Agency (FRA) announced that it will be buying maize at K65 for a 50 kilogramme (kg) bag for the 2018 crop marketing season.
CUTS centre co-ordinator Chenai Mukumba said there is need for Government to facilitate farmer access to markets as in some areas; farmers are able to sell their maize at over K80 per 50 kg bag http://epaper.daily-mail.co.zm/
