Govt stops receiving grants in monetary form

GOVERNMENT has migrated from receiving grants in monetary form to project-based systems to enhance accountability in budget implementation.

It is this year expected to spend K71.6 billion allocated in the budget of which K49.1 will be financed domestically, K20.1 billion will be through local and foreign borrowing while K2.4 billion will be grants from donors.

Minister of Finance Felix Mutati said in an interview that Government has started engaging some donors to help in the facilitation of various developmental projects and programmes in the country.
