Government gets tough with contractors

GOVERNMENT says it will not tolerate any contractor who uses substandard materials outside the contract entered with Government.
And State House has ordered line ministries to be on the ground and monitor construction projects to ensure they are of high quality.
It has been observed that some contractors in Northern Province are using substandard materials that could compromise the quality of structures and ultimately cost Government more money spent on repairs.
Speaking when he inspected the construction of Ntumpa and Katuta boarding schools in Kasama and Lupososohi district, in the company of his chief analyst Joseph Mukupa, special assistant to President Lungu for policy monitoring and implementation Andrew Chella discovered that some walls are cracking even before construction is completed.
