KELVIN CHONGO, Lusaka
HEADMAN Mungoko of Maamba in Southern Province has petitioned United Party for National Development (UPND) president Hakainde Hichilema to ask his party’s vice-president for administration Geoffrey Mwamba and members Miles Sampa and Obvious Mwaliteta to apologise to the people of Southern Province.
Headman Mungoko said in a statement issued in Lusaka yesterday that before the 2011 general elections, the three allegedly insulted the people of Southern Province and vowed that no-one from the region would ever rule Zambia.
“Mr president, the men and women now surrounding you insulted us Tongas that we shall never rule Zambia unless we multiply (and) outnumber other ethnic groupings in the country,” headman Mungoko said.
