‘Gang up for family values’

MINISTER of Home Affairs Stephen Kampyongo has urged Zambia to re-activate family values as one of the ways to stop the gang culture which has mushroomed in some parts of the country.
Mr Kampyongo said youth gangs, which are on the increase on the Copperbelt and Western provinces as well as in Solwezi and some parts of Lusaka, are symptoms of the failure and breakdown in family values.
He said in an interview yesterday the Zambia Police Service has moved in to get rid of the gangs and restore sanity but families should also play their part.
