Fwayo, Romanian side reconcile

MIDFIELDER Fwayo Tembo has extended his contract with Romanian side Astra Giurgiu for two more years.
Tembo’s old contract is expiring in May and both the player and the club agreed to extend it for two more years.
The Zambian has agreed to a €15,000 (about K113,000) monthly salary.
The former Basel FC midfielder has been out of action for almost a year following his purported breach of contract with Astra Giurgiu.
Tembo confirmed in an interview from Romania yesterday that his contract has been extended.
“I just extended my new contract because I had two more months to end my old contract. The new one expires in 2017,” he said.
Tembo is happy to be back in action and is looking forward to playing competitive football.
He underwent medicals on Wednesday and is expected to be in action next week.
“I did my medicals yesterday [Wednesday] and everything was okay. For me it’s nothing new. It’s just normal, to me what I am excited with is that I will be playing in the European league but nothing is new and nothing has changed,” Tembo said.
