Forest coach sacked

SIMONDA (centre).

SUPER Division Forest Rangers have terminated contracts of coach Dabid Chilufya and his assistant Willie Nkonde who were earlier sent on forced leave.
And Forest have shortlisted two for the position of assistant coach.
Club chairperson Richard Kalasa said in an interview in Ndola yesterday that the contracts have been terminated with immediate effect.
“We have terminated the contracts of Mr Chilufya and Mr Nkonde and we are in a process of engaging a new assistant coach to help the current technical bench,” Kalasa said.
He said the Kaunda Simonda-led technical bench will be strengthened to ensure the team start collecting maximum points.
Chilufya and Nkonde were last month sent on forced leave for alleged disregard for the club executive.
The two refused to meet the executive despite being summoned following a string of poor results.
The former international midfielder was appointed coach at the start of the season with Nkonde, who guided the Ndola outfit back to the elite league last season along with Kellies Mwaba, dropped to first assistant coach while Kaunda was roped in as second assistant.
Forest, who host Konkola Blades in a Week 10 match at Ndola’s Dola Hill ground, have seven points, 13 behind leaders Zesco United.
