FODEP counsels PF on transition

FORUM for Democratic Process (FODEP) executive director Macdonald Chipenzi has implored the Patriotic Front (PF) leadership to put the interests of the nation first during the power transition process.
Mr Chipenzi said this yesterday when he featured on `Let the people talk’ programme on Radio Phoenix.
And Kabwata member of Parliament (MP) Given Lubinda said people should learn to put national interest above personnel issues.
Mr Lubinda said Acting President Dr Guy Scott should engage Cabinet ministers and the PF Central Committee in running the affairs of the country.
“If the Vice-President is aware of meetings being chaired by Edgar Lungu [PF secretary-general]
to campaign for himself, it is better to call him and advise him.  Although he cannot stop people from exhibiting their political ambitions he can advise them to hold on until we bury our late President,” Mr Lubinda said.
Former Chipata Central member of Parliament Lameck Mangani said no politician is useless when it comes to matters of national interest.
Mr Mangani said it is cardinal for Dr Scott to involve the PF leadership at all levels of decision-making.
