Focus on development, says Mutati

Minister of Technology and Science Felix Mutati

CAROLINE KALOMBE, Lunte
MINISTER of Finance Felix Mutati has urged Lunte residents to focus on developing their area instead of fighting one another.

Mr Mutati, who is former Lunte member of Parliament (MP), said here yesterday when he addressed Mukupa-Kaoma residents that people should concentrate on the areas they want to be developed instead of whether he is working with the MP Mutotwe Kafwaya or not.
The minister and Mr Kafwaya were in the district to enlighten the people about the development projects Government is undertaking following the recent declaration of Lunte as a district by President Lungu.
Mr Mutati said apart from the district administration block, Government will also build a secondary school, a district hospital and a police post.
“We need peace and development for us to move forward. If we remain united, we will be strong,” he said.
He said Lunte, which is currently facing mobile phone communication challenges, will have a tower erected to improve signal and the coverage area.
Mr Mutati said he and Mr Kafwaya will facilitate the construction of a boys’ dormitory at the newly built Mukupa-Kaoma School to help the pupils who rent houses in the nearby village.
And Mr Mutati said he will help farmers to export their maize to Kenya so that they can have a bigger market for their produce.
He said farmers will not have to travel to Kenya, but that traders from that country will go to the district to buy maize.
Mr Mutati said he will continue to work with Mr Kafwaya to boost development and improve people’s well-being.
