FIRST Lady Esther Lungu has commended the Lions Club of Chelstone for constructing a mourners’ shelter at Lusaka’s Chelstone Clinic.
Speaking during the handover of the mourners’ shelter by Chelstone Lion’s Club, Mrs Lungu, who was represented by Minister of Health Joseph Kasonde, said it is good for mourners to have a shelter.
Mrs Lungu said the Lions Club should be appreciated for its noble cause and appealed to other stakeholders to do the same.
“Government has always appreciated and encouraged the involvement of service organisations such as lions,” she said.
Meanwhile, Dr Kasonde has commended Chelstone Lions Club for its initiative to implement the 2016 Keep Chelstone Clean project which, he said, is very close to his heart because it prevents contraction of diseases such as cholera and typhoid.
