Firms face 96 charges of fake medicine

TWO pharmaceutical companies and three individuals are facing 96 criminal charges involving distribution and sale of counterfeit medicine to various pharmacies and hospitals in Lusaka.Melcome Pharmaceuticals Limited, Glenmark Pharmaceutical Limited, Samulela Baig, Arjun Saluja and Sadik Seedat are facing 96 counts ranging from importation, distribution, marketing and sale of fake drugs.
On different dates, but between August 2017 and March 2018, whilst acting together, the pharmacies and their proprietors allegedly imported counterfeit medicine without an import permit.http://epaper.daily-mail.co.zm/
