Experts call for fire prevention

FIRE experts on the Copperbelt have called for intensified fire prevention measures in markets to prevent fire incidences.
Recently, fire swept through COMESA Market in Lusaka and Buteko Market in Mufulira, destroying goods worth thousands of Kwacha.
Kalulushi district chief fire officer Obert Fwalo said in an interview that there is need to ensure that all markets are equipped with fire extinguishers to quickly respond to fire incidences.
Mr Fwalo said security guards in markets also need to undergo training in fire prevention measures so as to equip them with firefighting skills.
