Expand internet service – Lubinda

GOVERNMENT has implored mobile service providers to expand their internet service provision to poor communities to enable more people to have access to the facility.
Minister of Justice Given Lubinda said Zambia cannot talk about inclusive internet service provision if disadvantaged communities do not have access to the service.
Speaking on Thursday when he toured Vodafone offices in Lusaka, Mr Lubinda said: “We cannot talk about internet service provision if we leave out poor communities because that’s where the majority of people are. We all need to give back to the less-privileged of our community.”
Vodafone chief executive officer Lars Stock said the company wants to work with the Government to help promote skills and innovation among youths.
“We are coming on the market to transform the way Zambians communicate,” Mr Stock said.
