Exodus worries ex- Zanaco stars

FORMER Zanaco players have expressed concern at the mass exodus of key players from the club ahead of the next month’s CAF Champions League preliminary round clash against Rwanda Patriotic Army.
The bankers have lost six players who were instrumental in their title winning campaign last year while four others are rumoured to be seeking their way out of Sunset Stadium.
Former defender Chris ‘Gaza’ Tembo said in an interview yesterday that the rate at which players are deserting the club is worrying.
Zanaco host Rwanda Patriotic Army (APR) in the CAF Champions League preliminary round first leg on February 11 with the return leg after a week.
Former midfielder Lawrence Lubinda said Zanaco’s chances of progressing in the competition are slim.
Zanaco has lost midfielder Salulani Phiri (Polokwane City, South Africa), midfielder Rodrick Kabwe (Ajax Cape Town, South Africa), defender Fackson Kapumbu and striker Dave Daka both joined Zesco United.
Defender Aaron Katebe has trekked to Nkana while veteran midfielder Isaac Chansa is the latest to leave the club and joined Zakho of Iraq on a two year deal.
