FIRST Lady Esther Lungu yesterday led a group of ministers’ wives and University Teaching Hospital (UTH) staff in launching a new effort in the Keep Zambia Clean, Green and Healthy campaign at the largest referral hospital.
And the Esther Lungu Foundation Trust in collaboration with Tommy Business Holdings Limited has donated medical equipment, blankets and assorted energy drinks to the UTH emergency unit.
Mrs Lungu said in Lusaka yesterday that being the pinnacle of health services in the nation, UTH must lead the way in keeping the health facilities clean as well as create public awareness of not only the hospital but the country as a whole.
“Once this hospital achieves a high rate of excellency in terms of cleanliness and keeping the environment clean, it will be used as an example for other hospitals in the country to follow,” she said.
