Equip youths with skills

MINISTER of Youth, Sport and Child Development Moses Mawere says the youth should be equipped with the necessary skills for them to effectively contribute to economic development.
Mr Mawere said if youths are empowered with skills training, it would enable them to contribute positively to national development and uplift their living standards.
The minister said this when the International Youth Fellowship delegation from South Korea paid a courtesy call on him.
He said the delegation is visiting the country to check on the progress on the construction of the Youth and Sport Development Centre, which they pledged to establish in Chilanga district.
Mr Mawere said the centre will house various components and facilities for skills development, education and sports activities.
He also said the delegation will visit the Copperbelt University to orient first-year students on mindset education, which has been introduced under the department of humanities. – ZANIS
