‘Don’t turn away pupils’

THE Ministry of General Education has warned school administrators not to send away learners who are yet to complete paying school fees.
Ministry of General Education spokesperson Hillary Chipango warned of punitive measures against school administrators turning away pupils.
In a statement issued yesterday, Mr Chipango advised school administrators to engage parents on payment plans to ensure fees are paid.
He said the ministry is in receipt of information that some schools are turning away pupils who have not finished paying school fees.
Mr Chipango said pupils’ learning programmes must not be disturbed by the failure of their parents to pay school fees, especially that exams are fast approaching.
