Demand for water increasing

MINISTER of Water Development, Sanitation and Environmental Protection Lloyd Kaziya has observed that the demand for water is rapidly increasing in the country because of population growth and shift in economic activities which have put pressure on the available water resources.

The minister said this on Friday night at Pamodzi Hotel in Lusaka when he launched the Water Resource Management Authority (WARMA) 2016 annual report and new logo.

WARMA is responsible for managing and regulating at a national level all uses of the country’s water resources in an integrated, participatory and sustainable manner based on human, land, environmental and socio-economic considerations.
