STRIKER Patson Daka says qualifying for the Under-23 Africa Cup of Nations finals will be a great step in charting the way forward for Zambia following the failure to qualify for the 2019 continental showpiece.
After failing to qualify for the under-17, under-20 and senior Africa Cup of Nations tournaments, Zambia’s only hope for redemption lies in the under-23 squad drilled by Beston Chambeshi.
However, Zambia need to negotiate past Malawi in the second round next March and in the last round against Burundi, Ethiopia or need Democratic Republic of Congo.
Chambeshi is expected to promote the core of the under-20 side that bagged the country’s maiden junior Africa Cup title on home soil last year.
