Christina is ‘Top Model of the World’ Zambia

FOLLOWING auditions by Pink Diamond International Model Academy and Mumba Children’s Project, Christina Sakala has been chosen to represent the country at the Top Model of the World pageant to be held in September in El Gouna, Egypt.
The Top Model of the World is organised by the World Beauty Organisation (WBO), which also produces the Miss and Mister Inter-Continental pageants.
Christina, 18, a law student at the University of Lusaka, will be groomed by Pink Diamond chief executive officer Sphiwe Benasho and fashion model-cum-lawyer Petita Mwanza.
“Pink Diamond Models are excited to be associated with such a great model. We have no doubt that she will bring back glory. She is simply stunning and has what it takes to bring the crown to Zambia.
“Christina has graced several runways, fashion catalogues, magazines and fashion shows,” Benasho said.
This year’s Top Model of the World, to be judged by a VIP jury, will be the 22nd edition.
The largest model pageant worldwide in its kind will be again staged in co-operation with the Orascom Development Holding and Telemedia Group.
It is the third time that WBO is producing the finale in El Gouna, where last year’s winner, Tania Valencia Cuero, will crown her successor.
El Gouna is a safe tourist resort, located on the Red Sea in the Red Sea Governorate of Egypt, 20 kilometres north of Hurghada.
The town, which specialises in watersports, has two main beaches, Zeytuna Beach located on its own island and Mangroovy Beach.
“We have no doubts that our contestants will have a memorable stay and the experience of the last two years showed already that El Gouna and the Red Sea left an impressive memory on all and that real friendships were developed among the contestants,” said Luis Pitti from the WBO.
Well, if Christina, whose hobbies include sketching designs, board games, reading and cooking, cannot win the Top Model of the World, she can at least enjoy her stay there.
