THE construction of the Chipata Medical Stores regional hub in Eastern Province at a cost of US$2 million has started.
Minister of Health Chitalu Chilufya said construction of the regional hub is being supported by the Global Fund and other co-operating partners such as the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).
He said this in a speech read for him by Ministry of Health permanent secretary Kennedy Malama during the ground ,breaking ceremony for building the medical storage facility.
“Over the past 40 years, the country’s health needs in terms of medicines have evolved and increased significantly due to changing disease patterns and also as a direct consequence of the increase in the population,” he said.
