CHINGOLA member of Parliament Matthew Nkhuwa has come up with a health facilities rehabilitation programme which will be financed by the Chingola Constituency Development Trust to supplement Government’s efforts to improve health infrastructure in the district.

The Chingola Constituency Development Trust is a philanthropist initiative aimed at fostering development in the constituency, and is being managed by different business people.

Mr Nkhuwa, who is Minister of Works and Supply, said in a statement that improved health facilities will enhance service delivery to the people.
He said the initiative has seen the construction of a maternity ward at Lulamba Clinic which is at roof level and is expected to be operational by the end of September this year.
Mr Nkhuwa also said youth empowerment programmes have been lined up and will receive funding from the Trust.
“We want youths to create jobs for themselves and we will come up with various projects such as fish farming, poultry, brick-making and other trades for our youths,” he said.
Mr Nkhuwa said co-operatives for women will also be supported by the Trust to help them engage in income-generation ventures.
