Chinese investors create 700 jobs in Kalulushi

CHINESE investors have set up five copper processing companies in Kalulushi district creating 700 job opportunities for the local people.

Kalulushi district commissioner Kenny Siachisumo explained in an interview that the Chinese firms buy raw grade copper which they process into finished copper.
“The new mining firms have been of great help to the residents of Kalulushi because they have created job opportunities for the local people,” he said.
Mr Siachisumo said the people of Chibuluma, Chambishi and Kalulushi are excited about the setting up of the mining firms because they are a source of livelihood to the local people.
He also said 27.5km of the roads will be rehabilitated in Kalulushi under the Copperbelt-400 (C400) road project.
Mr Siachisumo said Government is in a hurry to implement developmental projects to improve the well-being of the people.
